Shaping Conversations with UK-Bound Families: A Look Back at the July 2025 Briefings

As thousands of students prepare to cross continents in pursuit of world-class education, the journey often begins with reassurance, clarity, and connection. This July, we had the privilege of being part of that pivotal moment as a sponsor of the Pre-Departure Briefings 2025 in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore events designed to equip UK-bound students and their families with everything they need to begin this exciting new chapter.

These briefings were not just informative; they were deeply personal, offering families guidance, practical tips, and a strong sense of community. As a sponsor, our role was to support, inform, and inspire, while helping families consider their options for accommodation, investment, and long-term planning in the UK.

A Launchpad for UK-Bound Dreams

Held annually around the world, the Pre-Departure Briefings are the go-to resource for students about to begin their studies in the UK. The 2025 sessions in Malaysia and Singapore brought together scholars from prestigious institutions and sponsors such as MARA, Petronas, Maybank, and CIMB, as well as self-funded students eager to make the most of their overseas education.

Each event featured a blend of expert presentations, visa guidance, alumni sharing sessions, and opportunities for families to ask questions both in person and online. Across the Kuala Lumpur and Singapore events, hundreds of students and parents attended.

Engagement That Mattered

Our presence as a sponsor was designed to add value and spark conversations that went beyond just logistics.

Kuala Lumpur (4–6 July 2025)

Over three days, including a virtual session, our booth served as a space for meaningful interactions. Although many attendees already had accommodation arranged through their scholarship programmes, we found families curious and receptive to learning about long-term property options. In particular, our London Tube Map lightbox display drew in crowds, prompting discussions about commuting, campus locations, and the everyday experience of living in London.

We were also proud to be the only exhibitor physically present, offering attendees a dedicated space to learn more about UK property investment, rental considerations, and future planning.

Singapore (12 July 2025)

With 540 in attendance, the Singapore briefing was a high-energy, high-impact day. Our booth was strategically positioned right at the entrance, capturing the attention of nearly every family that walked in. Many students stopped to explore the tubemap, while parents asked insightful questions about buying versus renting.

Why Our Presence Mattered?

Our sponsorship was more than just a logo on a banner, it was a chance to connect with families during one of the most important decisions they’ll make. Here’s what we gained and offered in return:

  • Timely & Relevant Engagement: Our presence at an established educational platform enabled us to engage with families as they prepared for a major life transition.
  • Real Engagement Tools: Our interactive display, real-life insights, and on-the-ground team created memorable moments and practical value.
  • Insightful Interactions: While many students were set on accommodation for this year, parents, especially those with younger children, expressed interest in long-term investments, not just short-term rentals.

As families send their children abroad, many are beginning to look beyond the short term, considering safety, lifestyle, and even property ownership in London. Our role at these briefings was to offer clarity, plant ideas, and be a trusted point of contact for future conversations.

We look forward to supporting more student-focused initiatives across the region and continuing to be a meaningful part of every student’s journey before they take flight, and long after they’ve landed.
