I knew I wanted to study in the UK, and once I discovered Surrey, it was the only place I could imagine doing my master’s.”
Looking back on her student experience with fondness, Nora adds: “Guildford isn’t a typical university town, it’s quieter than a big city, and I really enjoyed that. It offered a gentler pace of life while still having everything a student could want. Even when I finished late shifts at the restaurant, I always felt safe walking to the bus station. There was never any reason to feel uneasy; it’s such a lovely town.”
Guildford is one of the county’s best-performing areas for independent education, with several schools regularly appearing in national “Best Of” lists. The town also boasts excellent state education.
